Las Fallas are unique: a festival that involves thousands of Valencians in an exercise of collective creativity that has the falla as its backbone. For a few days in March, the city of Valencia becomes the largest urban art festival to celebrate the arrival of spring. And every year rituals such as the plantà and the cremà of their ephemeral sculptures are repeated.
Las Fallas also have a complex associative fabric that generates activities of all kinds in which fun is guaranteed. The fireworks displays, together with the vigorous and purifying fire of the cremá, light up the sky. The city of Valencia also becomes an open stage where the visitor can be surprised in every corner by the notes of festive music. The color is provided by the fabrics worn by the falleros and the falleras in all official acts, recalling the ancient clothing. The typical gastronomy completes the experience, which ends up being a pleasure for the senses. All these are just some of the ingredients that make the party unique.
In fact, its creative values and its ritual practices, which have been repeated every year for decades, led to the fact that the Fallas festival was declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO on November 30, 2016. We invite you to capture its essence and to live magical moments, always following the recommendations to enjoy safe parties.
Welcome to the Fallas!
